What is the smallest Blue marlin you have ever seen? It seems to me that they show up around 200 lbs or so, anyone ever see a 50 lb Blue?

Caught a 95 lb Blue off Walkers many years ago. I don't think sub-100 lb Blues are that rare in the Bahamas, particularly off Chubb. Think there are also some small Blue Marlin off Jamaica and perhaps elsewhere in the Carribean. Also had a <150 lb Blue crush a bally while Sailfishing off Key Largo a couple winters ago...

Saw a Mexican bring in a Blue that was 48 kilos when I was fishing down there.
I released on in the Big Rock a few years ago that might have gone 75 pounds. It was tiny, but very aggressive.
I have a distant memory of a boat weighing one in during the 80's that was in the 35 lb. range! Don't get your panties in a wad, that was way before the minimum size limits were in effect.
We caught one in the poormans this year that did not go over 100 probably less than 80. We thought it was a white until I had the leader in hand.
The smallest blue marlin I've ever seen was a 12lb fish caught aboard the Escapade fishing out of Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach Shores, FL. It was December 1990. Hank Manley was captain and Lisa Charles was the mate. I believe Gretchen was on board too......... The fish was bitten on the tail by a baracuda boatside and was bleeding bad, so they boated the small fish. I believe it was sent to marine bioligist Eric Prince in Miami for research.
Somewhere, I have a photo of that little rascal.
Smallest I've ever caught was around 35lbs.
Happy New Year.
If memory serves we caught one about 50 or so in Venezuela in 97. It was tagged, unfortunately the tag card must have been filled out wrong because the return said it was 150.

the day after fishing 3 days with Butch cox in venzuela he caught one that looked to be about 40-50lbs tops in venezuela. I have some video of double header we caught also with butch in venezuela. Both fish were right around 100 he said. jumped off the third of that triple blue marlin bite on the first jump
We caught one on the Squidnation (incommunicado at the time) in the WMO that was probably 110-115lbs. Yes, we were millionaires for a few minutes until he was boatside for a very close look. Released unharmed.
I bet that happens a lot, I saw a white picture on this forum that I think was a baby blue, I'll try to find it and post. Released nicely though
