What is your rigged made of and how do you present your bait?

Do you use cable, mono, piano wire, straight wire, hook size, hook brand, leader brand, and anything else you want to provide for some of us novices! lol

I make my own rigs both mono and cable.. never had a problem.. i use 12/0 13/0 mustads for mako and i used 8.0 9/0 and 10/0 for all my threshers..

for bait i used whole bluefish, fillets, squid, mackeral.. i only get fresh bunker and never use frozen other than my bait.

I used two buckets one mackeral and one bunker chum

I set out 4-6 rods starting deepest out the farthest and work the water column back in towards the boat and also have 2 pitch baits ready... one with mackeral and one with a fresh bunker dunked in bunker oil. lol little excesive but hey! heck with it. lol

Come on DEEP!! lets hear it!! I am not in mako mania for sure so i need your inside tips! or else i am not buying the coke! lol

Well i will still by the jack and coke minus the coke!! lol

I have always said, an idiot could rig up to catch a shark.

The two hardest parts are:

1) Finding them
2) Getting them to the boat

Big misconception is that the chum will bring the sharks to you. Yes, works to a point, but if you are chumming dead water its not gonna do much.

Another thing is I can never understand the guys running the first week in June. Best sharking on the 20-30 line is like late June until mid July.

That was his point........ the man behind the wheel should receive 75% of the credit, the guy who rigs up the baits and lines should get maybe 5% and the other 20% is the angler. Rigging a shark rig isn't brain surgery. Finding those bastards and boating one is another story.

An idiot can catch a shark which has been proven by Deep C. The Idiot just has to lucky enough to catch the right one in a tournament.

I'll tell you one thing, you might be 1 out of the 50 lucky boats drenching the water in chum to hook up with a mako this season at the Wreck, Cigar, etc.

Or, you can go find your own real estate and not pitch baits to well fed sharks all day long.

Any time we have ever done well was 1 or both of the two following situations:

1) Be all alone on our own structure

2) Put fresh bait on then just fell asleep haha

People over complicate sharking.

Look for structure, temperature, and life. Put your buckets in, wet your lines, and leave it ALONE!
