Update shark escaped, apparently a 17' foot boat is'nt an easy vessel to use tot ow a big shark in with. Well regardless they are here.

AA lot of people use firearms to dispatch sharks. I did too in the beginning but I dont use them anymore. If you use a shotgun make sure you wear your slickers; you will find out why as soon as you pull the trigger. Aiming a pistol from a rocking boat to a head below the water is chancy. Bangsticks could and have richoset. Keep in mind also that if you fish any of the tournaments you will be disqualified if you dispatch the fish with a firearm.

Go catch one!

All good advice but I think mako mania and cape may allow the shark to be shot.

I don't think they had a gaff. LOL The call came form the water I thought they had it secured apparently they where trying to figure out how to secure it.
