Shimano Tyrnos worth it or not???

Does anybody have any input on these reels? I know that a couple of people purchased them over the winter and I was looking for feedback on them. I'm looking to purchase 4 new reels. Was going to go with the TLD 25's but may try these Tyrnos. Any info would be appreciated.

the tyrnos is a reel for high speed retrieve and any thing else for that matter, but was developed for high speed fishing and fishing braid along with spectra backing. such as jerry brown, this way you can get over 500 yds of line on a reel which will be fine for any fish around here. the reel will work for anything along our coast from deep droping for tiles to chunking slob bluefin down at the lumps, get the right rod to go with that reel and have at it.

I have used my new TYR 30's on 5 trips so far this year and they are great. They have the same silk smooth drag as the TLD and a much better retrieve ratio.

    Excellent for Kite Fishing!

I bought 2 Tyrnos 30 single speed for my kite baits.

We fish the kite with Rubber flyers and squids for the tuners.

I got them spooled up with 150# spectra and they work great.

The high speed is great for comming tight on the bite as there is alot of string out going way up to the kite and down to the bait.

    They work like a champ!

I still got tld's for dink rods with 30# mono, don't think these tyrnos would be good as a dink reel, because the spool mass is much greater and the tld's are superior for that because whitey cant feel the pull on freespool.

I think they would also be ideal for every day trolling with 50-80# spectra.

lovem, lets see how they hold up.
