Made the decision last minute to bail on scouting BFT's at the Trunk due to no reports. Crew was not up to running 70+ miles for >20lb. YFT's so we decided on another shark trip.
Cleared the inlet around 6am and she got snotty real quick. Dealt with a stiff N slight NW breeze all day. Solid 3-4's with the occasional 4 maybe even 5 on the way out.
Ran NE of the 28mi Wreck where we were looking at a nice cool temp break the day prior (69 to 67). Set up right in the gorgeous blue water.
Birds birds birds! Tuna chicks, diving gulls, regular gulls, terns all over. Water looked real fishy. Had a few run offs. One of which was a goofy bluedog. Thinking the other 2 were as well. Had trouble getting the circles to set...oh well, still in the experimental stages.
Crew was solid. Spent a good 6-7 hours on the drift in solid 3-4's with no "chummers". Ran back home into a slightly diminishing wind/sea.
Can't wait till some decent sized tuna show...tired of sharking.
