Hey, cool. We got shark experts here.

Well, never one to miss an opportunity, and while you have your thinking caps on...

can you guys figure out what this is? We chased it around in circles for a half an hour or more, and this was about the best I could do. It's hard to take underwater photos from the moving motor mount of a contender...

And I just didn't feel like getting in the water just then. I had eaten less than half an hour before, you see..and well, it just wouldn't be wise.

this was easily about half as long as the boat. Say, 12 feet nose to tip of tail.

First set of photos... Either blue or small bull... The slight angle off center and the "pin" teeth on the lowers lean more toward blue.

Gringo, yours appears to be a tiger... Cant say with certainty without seeing the snout from front but other aspects and size indicate tiger...

Next time stop being such a meow, get out of the boat and get a facial...

too shallow for a silky but it's a clean looking tiger.

The funny thing is that both sharks are the same. The pic of the jaws and Gringos are both big bull sharks. The teeth and jaws are a give in for me after cutting out and cleaning a bunch of them. Also look at the dorsal forward in Gringos second pic. The head starts to come to a point, but not to a complete point like most others and nowhere broad enough for a tiger. BULL SHARK! I saw way too many of those TCI tigers that would come from over the wall looking for a turtle meal while we were getting conch or looking lobsters. They were always very light in color also.

I was wrong the jaws are not from a bull after looking closer. Bull shark jaws are wider across and not so wide open. But Gringos pic is definately a big bull shark.

I would think the picture is a tiger or bull. The pectoral fins are not long enough for a blue. Just my HO.

Theres a little give away on Gringos after enlarging... Stripes...

On the other the individual teeth are angled out a touch more than a bull. I cut a zillion bulls my self and theres are a touch more straight triangular than angled outward. The kicker that has me leaning blue is the lower jaw multiple row at same time use of the pin teeth. The base of the bulls lowers is a shade wider. I will say though that its a pretty close call based on the shear size of the individual uppers. Thats why I'll stop short of 100 % sure...

Note the slightly less angled outward upper and slightly broader lower teeth in this set from a bull...

Couldn't see the stripes from my view.
