..just the 'lab rats' in this report are a great bunch of scientist and one just happeneds to be my girl.. so here's the story ..my wife asks me to help her catch, get dna samples and tag some sharks. Well being she is just a cool little Creature in the first place I told her 'I'm in ...!' .. so the best boat I have for them to work out of is my mako 25 I just got through totally re-building and had actually put her up for sale.. beautifull sea foam green sides.. well it was fun! We started saturday at noon to 12:30 at night and sunday 10 to 2 in the afternoon and caught 6 lemon sharks, 4 bull sharks and 3 hammerheads ..Great Trip! in the pics you will see we actually bring them to the boat, all circle hooks, they handle every shark with total respect and collect two small pieces of dna from thier fins, tag the shark, some get pingers inserted by a small operation and stiched back up..<~~ like what they pop in kids nowdays but bigger.., and actual satalite tags also.. at $5k each they even let me hold it.. needless to say the side of the boat will need to be re painted.. I seen my girl and her friends wire some big sharks with care and do it great, and I seen a shark snap a wooden paddle in half.. (good tip to shark guys ..give them something to chew on.. it makes releasing them so much easier..! Have a good one and just remember to take care and release what you don't use! and eat the ones that taste good!
