But boy, do they run when Mr. mako shows up.
If you fish the OC shark this year maybe I'll see you there.

OH yeah, I'll definitely be there. I made the decision to fish north last year running out of IRI when pretty much everyone else ran south. It worked Friday when we released 3 makos before noon. Unfortunately The fleet fishing in that area Saturday had every spot we wanted covered by tourny launch time. We released one dusky Sat.

Deep is the man!!!!! Thanks for all the info dude, One question i still have is, I have small quides on my rods, it was built befor all this wind on stuff was big. I dont think spros would do good with the guides, so what would the best connection be from main line to leader?

Austrailan braid or Bimini twist. Then do a loop to loop connection going two time through the main line loop. I try to use the most of the wind on leader. I like a short Austrailan braid maybe 1' from top of knot to the bottom of the double. I dont see any reason for having three or six feet of double line. the purpose of your double line is for a smooth connection between your dacron loop and your main line. I prefer the Austrailan braid over the bimini cause the knot has give, it dosent twist up my main line and there is no knot causing friction reducing the breaking strength. As far as IGFA, your windon has to be under thirty feet to the hook. You are allowed forty feet from the top of the knot in your double line. You can have 10' of double line and thirt feet of wind on, to give you forty feet over all. In a release tournament I would have the full forty feet but for kill tournaments and fun fishing I would stick to one foot Ausie Braid and twenty five footwind on and five feet of single strand wire. Hope this helps
