    does it matter?
Threshers are also very good to eat, as for the blue dummies, never killed one due to the fact that IMO, they are not fit for the table. Tried to eat it twice from a friends kill and I'd rather drink ammonia.

Threahers are better eating than makos as for the blue dogs I just tag and release have not dispatched one yet no reason too. had a monster in the
Lindy a couple years back pushing 424 and just tag her knowing it was a
state record it was a hell of a time bringing her up from 250 ft

Mako and Thresher, as stated above, great eating. When I'm done, there isn't much for remains. The tail, the fins, and a little bit of the head. The rest is steaks! The fins, you can bring them down to any local oriental restaurant and they will be more than glad to take them off your hands LOL.

You'll probably go home with a nice dinner for your family on the house, at the least!

The head, just hum it on your neighbor's property (the one you don't like)

BTW I'm with Brian on the Blue Dogs. I tag them all.

I had an ~450#er 2 years ago that would definitely have blown the state record......but I chose not to kill her.

I have eaten blue shark way fresh within a couple hours of being caught and thats the only time its eddible. After about 12-24 hours amonia in its flesh becomes overpowering and makes it unfit for any consumption.
If a mako is stupid enough to get near me when I'm in a mood it gets eaten. When I clean them nothing much but guts and spinal column is left. No bones to bugger things up. Even scraps get put to use. great crab bait and the white belly cut into strips can not be beat for fluke (flounder) bait. Jaws are a pain in the butt but are usually cut out and given to someone on the team who doesn't have enough.carefull not to get cut on the teeth while knocking them out. My wife would cut important parts off me though if I kept any more. Tails make cool decoration for dock pilings or other places at home.
Thresher tails go good on garage doors...

Deep, you don't eat the belly meat? We cut straight down thru the cord and make whole steaks, leaving the belly intact Lotta good meat in there

This one here had a couple bad habits tho. Drank and dipped. Amazing his teeth were still pearly white!

Yeh, not much waste to these, you're looking at it in the last 2 pics
