SD- a spirited debate is never a sign of disrespect- and the feeling is mutual.

We will probably never agree on this, so I am signing out of this thread after this post. I know that what I am doing is legal, and I never have to worry about interpretation or wording, or whatever. Everyone has to decide for themselves what they are comfortable with, and live with the consequences.

I will just be glad when I get to go fishing again with paying customers, or when I get invited to go fishing with someone as their guest. I have not been fishing since Oct. 3, and I most likely will not be going again until MHC in Dec. And hopefully when I get down there I will be taking plenty of guests back to Homer Smith's for some compensation!!!

The problem is that there may not be complete agreement or understanding of the rules in the coast Guard. Where does that leave us ? Dependent on the person who stops us- what they think the rule means or whether someone pissed in his Wheaties that morning. Doesn't make me feel safe.

Well Mr E., I know there was a group from this board that was pulled apart and questioned 2 years ago on the dock, because another member from this board called the CG about their fun trip.

After 2 hours, no tickets were written. If the CG could have written one for anything, I have no doubt they would have. In fact, my understanding was a letter of apology was to be issued by the commander at Ft. Macon.

They do not always have all the answers, or accurate answers for that matter.

A copy of the apology letter would go a long way toward analyzing the problem.
