I went out looking for sharks on Friday July 4th to the same spot we were during mako mania. We caught and released two big blue sharks and one dusky shark. The dusky shark had a commerical fishing net all wrapped around him and actually cutting into it in spots under its head area. Happy to say, we were able to get a tail rope on and cut him free of this netting that apparently has been with him for quite some time. we knew that, because it had sea weed growing from it. He gave us a smile and swam away. No makos or threshers this time out in 69 degree water out in the Glory Hole. This Saturday will be our first offshore tuna trip. Sounds like the canyons are on fire. I cant wait to get out there.
