headed out to overnight and made our first stop on the 100 fathom line to do some tilefishing.
first half dozen fish were dogfish and then my dad pulled a 30 pound tile over the rail. after the tile there were more and more dogfish.
decided to head out to the band of warm water after dealing with dogfish for an hour and found it much cooler than i had anticipated.
trolled 60.2-62.2 degree water till dark without a touch.
spoke with chris and capt. mark on the wasabi and they were into some nice gaffer dolphin to the east of us.. having already been 112 from the inlet and back in to the 600 fathom line, concerns about fuel kept us from running another 24 miles to the east to where they were.
set up for the night in 61.3 degree water hoping for some makos. marked many fish under the boat but never got a bite.
back up on the troll in the morning and the warmest water we could find was 60.2 degrees. had a 14 pound dolphin eat a ballyhoo and that was it before we stopped trolling.
headed back into the tilefish grounds and pulled one 10lb. tilefish and another 30-40 dogfish.
