Saltiga Reel on Trevala Rod .........

Got bored on Sunday and went down to my local tackle shop, I picked up 2 Saltiga/ Trevala set ups. Saltiga 30 on the Trevala 6' 6" rod rated for 80-200 lb braid. Anybody have any experience jigging tuna with a similar set up ? We had some luck last year on hammered diamond jigs, jigging while we were fighting trolled fish, and it was a blast, but smoked a few reels not really up to the task, but the Saltiga has 22lbs of drag, so should be good. Please share your experiences

The Saltiga is a one bad unit...God help the Tunas. I can't think of a setup that sounds more fun to fight a Tuna on.

Not the conventional version, but heres a little vid of the 6'3" spin trevala in action, sept 2007. you can put the heat to these fish with what seems like way to small a rod. photos of bluefins on the 6'3" conventional with a torium 20 and 50 lb braid

    Yur gonna love it

We did very well last season with jigging.

The gear choice is solid and may also recommend the accurate line up for vert jigging also but I am biased as I am on their pro staff

Have a blast and catchemup...we were pullin in chubby YFT and lost a sword with a pulled hook after a great fight.

    What blew me away

As you can see from the picture ..

    this was done at night

They (Accurate) have been workin hard all winter to get production caught up on the twin spin as the acceptance from the market was wonderfull. I understand that the lead time has been chiped away.

In any event it certainly is another technique to add to your quiver of solutions
