Salad in the Baltimore Oct 2
I should have paid more attention to Little Debbie's post this weekend.
The satellites were showing a pocket of warm water at the Baltimore so we ran there for a day trip Sunday in hopes of finding a wandering Blue. We found the temp break however the water was so heavy with weeds the troll was just an act of frustration. We spent a couple of hours trying, and kept thinking we would work out of them, but had very little time when we weren't dragging salad around. The only other boat we came in contact with was a longliner with gear laid out in the middle and south side of the canyon.
There is life there, we managed 5+ mahi and a couple of bonita, which would have been nice bait, but nothing big.
On the way out we ran over a couple of nice weedlines that looked fish-able. One around the 30 and another 10 miles in from that.
Not sure how it was elsewhere Sunday but the seas kicked up pretty good at the 100 line of the Balt (3 - 6). It was flat out, and in.
