Not the best pics, but a Sail wanted some of JD. Hopefully I'll get them in the right order. Notice the expression on JD's face and the " I'm getting the hell out of here in the last pic.

Great pics Glenn. Where were they taken?
Great pics GW....what kind of equipment are you using?
When you all headed home?

Awesome shots. D80 on the way. Wheres that damn lense you told me to order. Looks like it is most definetly worth it. I could tell the difference in the first few pics. Awesome
Dave, Glenn has a D 80 like mine...gotta love them! Great job Glenn. See you next weekend!
Great shots Glenn! Glad you all got some good action in Costa Rica.
Now, tell us all about it, please!
SeaBiscuit
PS. JD is a brave man. I would have bailed out long before he did!
Lee - Do you have the super duper 18 to 200 mm lense that he has? I have been putting off getting one. I tried to get one in China but it was twice as expensive as what Glenn paid for It. I think it makes a huge difference. Guess its time to take the plunge. The detail in those shots are incredible.
Nice pictures Glenn ....
You guys all have the Nikon D80 ?? everyone like it ??
Bill, Lee, Dave, et al-- I'll try to keep this to a fishing thread and not a camera thread. The lens is simply awesome and goes to show that technology can overcome incompetence.
I kept reading that the D80 matrix meter was a POS so it is better to use the center meter--- that is a bunch of shit, from nerds that take portraits and pics of flowers--- not action shots. I will posts alot of pics tomorrow and you will notice several don't show good color in the fish. Every one of the poor color shots was using the center meter and every one of the good quality pics were using the matrix meter.
Anyway, it was a great vacation with my Brenda, JD, and Karen. We behaved ourselves as much as can be expected--- caught some fish, wiffed a few, ate and drank very well. Sorry to the Los Suenos guys, but Quepos and Manuel Antonio beats the hell out of Los Suenos/ Jaco for an enjoyable vacation.
The slob was icing on the cake. The Marlins showed up pretty good on Monday with about 7 or 8 raised within a 2 mile area, so we were optimistic on finding another one on the last day. It would have been great if she would have given us a few jumps but as Capt. Ross said when asked why she stayed down the entire fight--- " because she could".
We were worried we would kill her in the 87 degree water and if she died we would never bring her up from the bottom with 30 lb line. When we brought her up to leader the first time the mate was on the latter and very, very softly said "muy Grande", but his eyes were big as a dinner plate. He looked over to the Capt. and headed down to wire the biggest fish he has encountered to date. This is his first season fishing and he is going to be a great mate, so nothing bad is meant here. He went to wire the fish and let go with the first tug. We now had the release, and the fish was certainly getting tired (not to mention my skinny butt), so I cranked it up to almost full drag. We got her to wire a second time ( about a 12' leader is all), but she just didn't like the look at all those strange people looking at her so she dove again.
The angle of the sun was getting really skinny, so I locked it up and hoped for the best---- the circle hook broke right where the bard was---- grinding against bone for over 3 hrs?????
Oh well, we got her to leader twice and it was a legal release and a ton of fun. Between her not jumping and the poor light at the end of the fight, we didn't get a single pic of her.
