Jay, yes it was a little sporty, we were only 30 minutes into it and caught 2 sails, one guy on the boat said if I didn't take him back he would cut all the baits off and the dredges as well! He didn't like the knee deep water in the pit. Sails were tailing everywhere. Yes I took em home!!!

in my opinion every fish is different, so chasing them in forward or reverse depends on the situation. End game if you are going to kill a fish I like them off of the stbd corner. Releasing fish I don't care where they are at.

As far as the di.... measuring contest in Spencers photo goes... Anyone who has caught any number of billfish, and I don't mean a number that isn't higher than 2 digits, has seen something similar to this in their cockpit at one time or another. Waves break in the cockpit, sometimes you bury the transom getting over zealous, but either way if you haven't ever seen somethin like this in your boat, you just haven't been at it long enough.

Hubris, I ain't gonna lie, you and I do not see eye to eye in most of our posts. But I do not have to dream on about anything billfish related pal. After a few thousand of these things under my belt I can tell you that I have taken water over the transom with some of the best guys at this gig. I have also been along side some of the best in the world when their transom's have been buried. No dreaming here, just reality.

after A FEW THOUSAND......... and how many would that be? you are the king! bury that stern until you sink the boat. and should i ever take a class in billfishing.....i hope it's the first thing i learn to do. now let me ask you this.......exactly what fish or fishes out of the few thousand that you caught required this man handled maneuver? since i only have experience with one billfish, [and it came up dead] i want to learn more........ thank's.

It's a no brainer. You do what you got to do as fast as possible. Just don't sink the boat.
