SUNDAY
Today we had a returning customer (Boyce) from May with us. He brought 5 of his friends along with him.
Boyce, Bob, Gary, Bill, Kyle and Eric is who we had the pleasure of fishing with.
Boyce was a great help today in the pit. He was pulling rigger clips down and running them up. He was putting the fish in the box. All the guys helped ice the fish throughout the day. Boyce was keeping them all up to date on what they needed to do. Boyce learned alot when he fished with us back in May. It was a great help to have these guys with us today. Not to mention they all were a lot of fun to fish with.
Gary is the NC State BBQ Champion. He made Captain Brian and myself a couple sandwiches that were just out of this world. The best BBQ sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. Pretty work Gary

FIshing was pretty good today. Captain Brian took us where the big ones lived today. The guys wanted the bigger Mahi's. They did not want to bother with the small bailers. They wanted meat and lots of it. THE BEAST answered their request.![]()
We caught the big gaffer mahi's throughout the day with only about 3 of them being slingers. Most of the Mahi's we caught were 20lbs+ and we had a few of them over 30lbs.![]()

We also caught 1 Blackfin Tunaand 5 Cuda's

Captain Brian called me up on the bridge about 11:00 and showed me this piece of water he found. It was a small piece of water that was real light in color. It looked like the water on the shoals when the water is clear and the sun is shinning. It was about 100' wide and 200' long. It had a different type of smell to it too. Captain Brian said it smelt like Natural gas. I could not tell what it smelt like. It was beautiful though. The pictures I took don't do it an justice.
Around noon we hooked up on the right long with a Sailfish. We had all the stuff cleared in just a minute. Captain Brian was backing down on em. After a few minutes the line went slack for a second and we lost him. As we were reeling it in a barracuda jumped on the line. LOL We could not beat the cuda's off of us today. They were everywhere we went.![]()
About 1:00 we had a Sailfish check out the left flat, then the left short but would not take either. Next thing ya know Captain Brian has him on. That's right, the Captain sniped him with the bridge pole baby. Awesome job Captain B. We get Eric in the chair and we all clear the stuff and Captain Brian is backing her down. We got the release in just a few minutes. We snatched him in the boat and took a quick picture. They guys will be emailing me one with Captain Brian, me and Eric all in the picture.
We all had a great time and they guys got what they wanted.... MEAT. I am looking forward to fishing with them again.
Final total for the day was 22 Mahi, 1 Blackfin, 5 Stinky's and 1 Sailfish release!!!
There is an extra picture included for your viewing pleasure today. She was walking by when I was taking the pictures. LOL![]()
Saturday
We had a group that was from out of state and a couple that were from the Charlotte area.
Wind was blowing a little bit and the seas were a little choppy. The guys did great though
The Mahi action was not as hot for us as it was on Friday. They did not want to school up for some reason. We managed to pick at them throughout the day though. We had a couple gaffers and the rest were flip flops.
We also picked up a Wahoo along the way. We had a shot an a Sailfish that did not come tight though.
Overall it was a pretty good trip. They guys had plenty of fish to take home and they all really enjoyed themselves. They booked a couple days with us for next year already too.![]()
We ended up with 32 Mah's, 1 Wahoo, 1 AJ and 1 Stinky
Thanks so much for fishing with us guys. It was our pleasure.
Looking forward to it again next year fellas.
