The wind was blowing and we got sprinkled on most of the afternoon.
Today we had Pete's (BM3Bandit)group from Virginia. Along with them were Brian (Wave Loudly) who was blind and Jarred (BAY BANGER)
This group had fished before. They all knew the deal. Brian who was blind, got around just as good as the other guys. LOL He was an extreme pleasure to get to know and fishing with. All the guys were for that matter. Everyone pitched in to do something after every bite.
Brian who is blind got around just like everyone else. I was amazed how much stronger his sense of smell and hearing are. He did a wonderful job.
Pete caught the biggest Mahi today @ 33 lbs, which was his biggest ever. Best part about it....he used the dink rod. So, not only did it take a long time to reel it in....all his friends gave hims the hardest time. LOL
We all had a great time today. They have plently of fish for the freezer and memories that will least a life time.
Thanks for a great day on the Run Off!! O Sea D did a great job of keeping my blind butt in the boat and out of trouble while doing an outstanding job performance! (He even put up with my silly assed questions all day.) He made me feel so comfortable on the boat that felt safe to move about on my own and not being lead everywhere.
Captain Brian was outstanding at the helm, I learned a lot listening to heim talking about the spread from his vantage point to John. (Kind of amused me too, I kept thinking of the "Noah" routine that Bill Cosby used to do, and thought it would be complete if the Capt had a little bell to ring before he called something down to John.. Ping! "Noah, I want you to set a spread to catch fish." LOL)
I'm glad that Pete dragged me along for this trip, it was indeed one for the memories!
Firt off , A big thank you to the Beast & O-SEA-D. This had to be one of the best times I have had in a long time.the way the Beast & O-SEA-D work together ia simply Amazing!Thank you both very much! The crew of Wave loudly , bay banger Carl & Wayne ( the mogolian Stomper )were a BLAST to fish with! Would love to do it again & I,m sure we will My personal best Mahi as well I cant say enough how much fun it was! Hey Wave loudly thanks for driving us home
No problem Knock Down, I had to drive if I wanted to make it home without going through Cincinatti!! (How can be sighted and THAT directionally impaired?? Do you have to leave a trail of bread crumbs to find your wa from the living room to the kitchen in your house?? LMAO!)
I'm very happy you got your personal best Mahi this trip, it gave the rest of us time to read "War and Peace" from cover to cover!! LOL
O Sea D, the answer to my typing being better than Pete's is a simple one... I am better at "seeing" with my fingers than he is with his eyes. (Just ask the bar maid at the bar we were in on Friday night!!!! LOL)
