Today we fished with one of Captain Brians long time returning customers Mr. Herbie Whitaker and his friends. We also had Jake (OVERBOARD) riding with us again. Jake also mated for them last year on the RUN-OFF when they fished.
The conditions today were even better then yesterday. No wind and flat calm seas. Too calm really.
Fishing was very slow for everyone every where yesterday. Captain Brian marked the tuna's really good in the morning, but they just would not bite. Eventually we moved down the beach some looking for some wahoo's.
We had our first bite about 9:30 on the right long. He popped it out of the clip and missed it. I dropped it back to him and he cut it off. A few seconds later Captain Brian hooked him on the bridge pole.In the box went the first Wahoo probaby with my hook in his stomach. LOL
We went for another 30 minutes with nothing, then we had a Mahi hit the left short and we put him in the box.
After that it was just a few short bites on the planer. Around 11:30 the DFA produced a Wahoo for us. The DFA also brought in 1 other Wahoo, 1 Stinky and 1 undersized AJ.
Around 2:00 Captain Brian hooked Wahoo about 35lbs on the Bridge pole and in the box he went.
Captain Brian worked tha same area for a little while longer and we had a Mahi try us on the right flat that would not stay hooked. Finally he faded back to the left short and we hooked him. At the same time Jake hooked another one on the same right flat line that the other fish tried us on.We put both of them in the box.
Overall we had a very nice day on the water. Fishing was slow, but Captain Brian still managed to get us a few bites.
We ended up with 4 Wahoo's, 3 Mahi, 2 Stinky's and 1 baby Reef Donkey
