Well, we got into Spring fishing again this weekend.
Friday we had Dave Sikorski, Dennis (Capt D), Jeremy (jmercer) I think, Ken (Wild life managment), Bryan (Wild life management mate) and Mike (Finrazor Rods).
It was a nice ride out on big black as always. Started fishing about 7:30. 10-11 rod spread and 4 teasers all day long and had a total of 4 bites.Dirty water and scattered grass was what we dealt with all day.
Ended up picking off a Wahoo on the left long rigger and a Yellowfin off the planner rod.
Pulled 1 fish off the right long on his initial run and the Captain had a Hound fish try his bridge pole.
Very slow fishing for everyone all day long.
Saturday was a rough windy day. We had the same group on Saturday minus Mike. 20-25 kt winds all day long. I only got soaked by breaking waves into the cockpit 3 times. LOL I almost think THE BEAST was doing it on purpose. He was enjoying it way too much!!!
We had lots of bites on Saturday and caught plenty of fish. We could not beat the AJ's off the planner rod all day. We even had an AJ on the right long on Saturday. We got covered up with the Albacores one time too.
First fish of the day was a 25lb King on the planner rod. Afer that the AJ's had their way with every bait that went down to the abyss.![]()
We had a Wahoo pop the band on the center flat line...then he went and popped the band on the right flat line. We fed him and hooked his scrawny butt too.
THE BEAST had a Gaffer try him on his bridge pole once and he came off.....but you know how THE BEAST roles baby....he worked his magic and ended up sticking his ass sure enough!
The guys got to reel in plenty of fish on Saturday while holding on for dear life.
It was not the best fishing ever....but it was a lot of fun none the less. The fellas were a blast to hang out with too. Everyone got to do participate in some rigging and running the riggers up and down too. It was a great team effort all day long.
Final for the day was 1 Wahoo, 3 Blackfins, 1 Mahi, 2 Kings, 6 Albacore and 14 AJ's!!!![]()
Here are a couple pictures that Ken sent me this morning. Dave has a bunch of good pictures too that I am sure he will share when he gets a chance.
Thanks a bunch fellas....it was great to meet the ones I did not know. Hopefully we will fish together again soon.
