Well, we met at the dock at 0455 on Sunday morning. We had our own Over-board Jake Boyd, his 2 uncles Jeff and Pete and they brought along their friend Eddy. We also had Bill, who fishes with THE BEAST a few times a week, and 2 of his best friends from New York Jim and Jim.
We all already know Jake is an awesome fishermen, sure to be a mate when he retires from the USMC. I had fished with Jake many times before on many different boats. Last summer Jake and his 2 uncles Jeff and Pete fished on my boat with me. Sunday I had the pleasure of fishing with them again.
Bill, is a fishing machine. I have fished with Bill a few times before. He is about 65 years old and will run circles around anyone out there. He is one hard core fishermen. He is freaking awesome.
I made a few new friends today. Got to know a little bit about everyone and really enjoyed talking to them. Great group of guys we had on the boat. Loved fishing with them and it was very exciting to them get excited and catch some fishies.
We started fishing about 7:15 on Sunday morning. Had our first bites a few minutes after we had lines in. We fished 6 lines most of the day due to the 25 knt winds we had to put up with throughout the day. Seas were 6-10' pretty much all day. The action was some what steady on through the day.
The tuna's were just anilating the right teaser. 2 times they ripped off about 50 feet of line from the teaser reel. The second big run on the teaser ended up busting the clicker on the reel. Its not very often that you see THE BEAST surprised. He said he has never seen anything pull on the teaser that much except Blue Marlin. I mean it was crazy what they were doing to this thing. LOL He told me on the way in that the first time they slammed the teaser and pulled off that line that it scared the crap out of him. LOL
Jake was helping me in the pit and did an awesome job as always. Everyone on the boat had fished before, so they all did an awesome job. We had great anglers and the best Captain plus I had Jake helping me....so my job was simple. Lots of laughs from the group. Lots of high 5's and hand shaking throughout the day. Lots of blood shed.Everyone had a great time. The better part of the bite seemed to be in the morning. We picked up 4 35-45 lb class YFT's in the last 15 minutes. THE BEAST put us in them pretty good to finish off the day. No big surprise there.
We ended up the day with
14 Tuna's ( 9 Yellows and 4 Blacks)
3 Wahoo
1 King
1 AJ
1 Core
The biggest hoo of the day was about 40 lbs. We found 3 sea witches in his stomach with hooks and weights. LOL I found out yesterday that all 3 belonged to the Impulse. Their mate was talking to us at the dock yesterday and I mentioned it to him and I told him what I had found and he said it was his flat, short rigger and long rigger baits. LOL Who would have thunk it.
Another awesome display by Captain Brian THE BEST Harrington.
Thanks so much to Jake, Jeff, Pete, Eddy, Jim, Jim and Bill for fishing on The RUN-OFF. I look forward to fishing with you guys again in the future.

Damn right John! That is the way to do it right there. Very nice work fellas on a more than unhospitable day of large seas.
That is pretty friggin cool about the sea witches in the hoos stomach. There are 3 hoos swimming around out there with baits in their gullet sunday from the Bite Me.
Thanks for the detailed report John. What a meat pile!
Enjoyed fishing with you & Brian yesterday. It sure felt good to be on the black boat again.
