Roller or Ring guides for braid?

Which do you prefer and why? Are the new ring guides tough enough for braid? I have some older rods where the rings have popped out or cut.

I like the ring b/c can set in holder and doesn't matter what direction the tip faces, but the roller always "seems" to me that is less abraisive on the braid/line. Leaning toward Shimano Tallus Bluewater with roller stripper and top and rest ring.
