    rods w/wind on roller guides for 50tw & 50vsw

Looking to buy rods with wind on roller guides for 50tw & 50vsw. I have looked at the Penn International V ARA model vs5010awa60...any recommendations on these rods or should I try to go with custom rods? Thanks in advance...all recommendations are appreciated. Jack

I've got my 50VSW's on Penn ARA rods with full rollers and I'm pleased with the combo. You might also want to give Crowder a look as thier quality is on par or better than Penn's and they have a no BS life time warranty. The Crowders are one of those so called "custom" mass produced rods and they are made in FL. Thier price on similar rods is in line with Penn's prices on similar rods.

I think I'll probably go with Crowder on my next pair of Penn 50VSW's.

I found a guy on ebay who sells quality rods at dirt cheap prices. And he also has some in stock that'll fit your needs that he can sell on the side. Everyone loves his rods.... solid e glass with wind on leader rollers. I'm gonna bid on one next. Currently I have a 50 lb stand up from him and the thing is awesome fitted to my Avet 50. Try them. I don't have the link but search for Pinnacle Rods on e bay. If not... then spend the cash on some Cape fear rods..... virtually indestructable and highly recomended by Charter captains around the world.

The style of fishing yer planning is not described in yer post.

Chunking --rods with a heavy but section fer lifting power and a light tip to cast a chunk----Kinda like an ugly stick,,,the tip is really lite.

Trolling rods--- stiffer overall with an action that when the blank is loaded, the rod should be bent over the entire length down to the reel seat.

Hooking a fish with a chunking rod while trolling can require the use of smaller hooks due to the tip flex

Hooking a tuna with a trolling rod while chunking can snap the trolling rod or jerk the angler around the cockpit,,

Define yer fishing application, then choose the rod that will help acheive the most satisfying angling experience.

I use Crowder. I have over a dozen for the last 5 years with no broken blanks, none of the guides have had to be retied,,,,etc. No problems

The guys will help you more if you tell us how yer fishing, trolling/chunking
