    The road to recovery

    Hey guys,

My name is Noah, and I am an alcoholic. I haven't had a drink for five days, I am doing my best to become sober.

I want to first start off my thanking Jesus Christ, I pray to him every day, sometimes every 10 minutes, I have the urge to drink a lot right now.

Everything that I ever did stupid, I did when I was boozing. I apologize for making a fool of myself and posting idiotic threads. I let myself hit rock bottom and had to lose everything before I quit drinking five days ago, it's been the longest week of my life.

I am a more humble, honest, and respectable man now that I am sober. One day at a time, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, warmest Aloha --

    Noah

    Hmmmmm

Common decency of my fellow man tells me to reply carefully to this one. I would have to think that not even you would pull a stunt this low if there weren't truth to it. Alcoholism is a very serious disease and should not be made fun of in any manner.

That said, I wish you the very best in a speedy recovery. Remember that those around you have been dealing with a nightmare in your behavior, so you need to listen to them because I'm sure they're trying to help you.

Your first sober mission should be to educate the clowns at your shack about what that red tag flag represents that's hanging on the corner. They are ruining their business and all of our fishing futures with the example they're setting.

If you are screwing with us, may you rot like the scanky barracuda baking in the sun in your avatar.

    Mahalo,

Even one minute at a time. You can't do it alone. Ask for help from your higher power he will listen. Find good in all things sober. When I got sober I had to look hard sometimes but it was all good. Stubbing a toe hurt... That was a good thing cause when I was drunk I would look down days later and not remember how I got a mangled foot or hand or....
Lifes a whole lot better this side of the bottle and being owned is no longer an issue... Can't get those years back but I can and do make the most of what I have now...

If you're being sincere, I too want to wish you well.

Like Wireman said though, if this is just another cry for attention, well, you know where you can go. Sucks that there has to be a qualifier thrown in, but the tone was set by previous actions.

    Easy Does it Buddy

Following on from the above threads I agree with those sentiments. If you are being sincere and If you are new to the programme then Honesty is where its at and and making a few ammends go a long way.

I too am an alcoholic / Addict ( recovering ) and been clean and sober for a few years now and loving every minute of it.

If I had'nt found the fellowship of AA and the way forward happy in the fact that today I need not have a drink I can quite honestly guarantee that in 2005 I would have been DEAD I would have Lost the lot

Now , I still have a successful business intact and prospering, have time for my family and friends, have the will and the time for my game fishing obsession. From one obsession to another aye !

Better still ,I have met a whole team of Game Fishing mates that live a clean and sober life as well, and boy do we have a good laugh at all the old piss heads out there.

It might be hard at the moment buddy, but it does get easier. I have more fun not using than I ever did using.

Get into the programme and seek out the message and support that is right before you.

    Good luck and remember
