    rigging a harpoon

    i have just recently purchased a harpoon with a dart setup, but i am not sure how to rig it up. What do you rig to the dart?? What size line?? How long?? ect ect ect

    We splice a short shot 24" with a loop on each dart (should have 4-6 sharp darts) than we splice a loop in the end of 300' of 3/8" nylon three strand. This is than connected to each other with a loop to loop connection and than splice the other end of the 300' to a small polly 4-6" polly ball with the boats name on it.

    I have two shots of main line each with its own ball and coiled in crates with the polly ball hanging out from the bottom on top so you can grab it if need be before it hits the water. If he is really running than just let him take the ball over board.
