    Rigging Bucket????

    Excuse my naive however...

Other than the purposes that your standard 5 gallon bucket serves on a boat (e.g. thawing bait, washing blood down the scuppers, a soap and water bucket) what are the purposes of these "rigging buckets?"

    Can someone please enlighten me

Stalker Outfitter guys... yours was just the first picture that I could think of... however I've seen/heard guys refer to their rigging bucket.

some of the rigging buckets have lids with many holes cut in them to hold multiple rigs and baits, also some have bases that you can throw weights and all kinds of stuff into them allowing you to wash rigs and whatever all the while water rising out the bottom. I have one of the superbowl riggin buckets and love it, but i do try to keep it in the cabin of my Carolina classic to try and keep my rigs out of the elements as much as possible. But it makes it very easy to rig the bucket for the day with all the rigs you might want to use, then grab a rig easily during the day and put a rig up for the day.

I use a large plastic bin with a lid from wally world or lowes. Just drill holes in the lip, then the lid will just snap over the hooks. It fits more rigs with less tangling, theres room for teasers & boxes in the middle, and the lid keeps the salt out salt out on the ride.

A longer rope handle makes it easier to lean over the side of the boat and fill it with water. The stickers are COOL too!!

We made our own. Buy a bucket, get a drill and bit, buy some rope, remove metal handle, drill hole for rope, order a "Sportfishermen.com" sticker.

We also have the rigging bucket with all the holes on the top edge and the detachable bottom tray. It's pretty convenient and holds a lot of green machines.

The lid is the key (for me). I have may favorite 40 ilanders, whitches, cedar plugs, machines etc. hanging inside and out. It is like the sunglass rack at the store... Spin it until you see the one you want!

Another critical usage of the bucket is for the aquatic fish call- Snowranger has executed the fish call several times in my presence and maybe he can enlighten the group further, or maybe I can devote another thread to it
