I hope this is in the right thread. How do you bridle a live bonito?

I use wa they call the button rig, Take a button off of a pair f old pants. I like to have one that is about a 1/2 to 5/8 inches wide. Tie a loop of dacron through the button holes. take your live bait open eye needle and go through the inside of the Bonitos mouth and out through the had spot in his nose. Now take your hook and do a normal put he loop on the hook twist and back trough to secure your hook to the bait. This bridal system has no effect on the bait where as constantly draggin them by the eye sockets works but somethimes causes bloody and bulging eyes..

Wow I just tried this for the first time last Sunday. I did it with a #33 rubber band in front of the eyes and a 20/0 circle hook. Bonito was about 2lbs and it was amazingly easy. I thought the band would surely break but it never did. I would probably go to a larger band for bigger baits. I just did it messing around and trolled it for about 10 min. I'll try it with dacron next time. What # dacron should be used?
