    Riggin out the small boat

You just got a 24' cc with a 225hp outboard on a bracket. The beam is 7' and you have 15' lee jr. outriggers with single clips. You have a leaning post but do not have a T-top due to budget restrictions. You have 6 - 50W Tiagaras and one Penn 9/0 senator at your disposal.

Using the equipment mentioned above, how would you set a spread to maximize your overall offshore fishing experience?

I have pretty much the same situation. Here is how I fish mine....

You will have to add a second clip to your outrigger in order for this to work. I just put a loop in the rigger line halfway out and attached a snap lock swivel. When you do this, you can run a long rigger and a short rigger. Just attach the short rigger to the swivel with 1 or 2 rubber bands and it will work fine. It is a pain when you get hit on the long rigger, and you have to re set both lines, but it isn't that big of a deal....

So if you do this, you should be able to run a long rigger on each side, a short rigger on each side, a flat line on each side, and a shotgun. This should pretty much get you going. When you get a planer rod, you can fish it on either side, just take that flat line up. Hope this helps.

Rig the two outrigger lines independent of each other. You'll be glad you did. Also, either install some flatline clips, or, like we do, just rubberband your flatlines to a transom cleat. Also, you can make a center 'rigger out of a PVC pipe with some hooks screwed into it. On our 23' World Cat we run 8 lines & two teasers.
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

    2 port rigger short, long
    2 starboard rigger short, long
    1 flat lines
1 flat line with planer or trolling lead
1 down the middle on a Tiagra.

somewhere either on flats or short riggers i'd put a daisy chain and/or either a big teaser style lure with a small bait somewhere in the vicinity off of another rod. I think i've said before, i picked off a few sails that were teased up by the big Bart Breakfast.

6 nice reels by the way.
