    Restless Lady/OC/tuna shark 6/13-15

Fishing Report For: June 15, 2009
    WOW WHAT A 3 DAY
    WEEKEND

We fished everyday this past weekend plus today.

Saturday we boated one keeper bluefin tuna after 6 bites at the Hambone. We then caught one nice Mako for the ride home.

We turned the lady around and went on a overnight trip to the Norfolk canyon saturday night. We caught 3 makos, one tiger shark, 25 yellowfin tunas and 200 mackeral. 10 tunas, one mako and all of the mackeral went home with us.

Today, we had 3 mako bites and kept one at 130#, we were SW of the hambone.

    Cheers, capt Todd Kurtz

Just curious, but why do you kill sharks?

Gringo I would assume youve had it before but if not Mako is mighty tasty, especially marinated in Italian dressing and thrown on the grill. If your gonna eat it take it, if not throw it back.

Mako is mighty tasty and it freezes well!! You can legally kill a 54" Mako. I personally wont kill one under 100 pounds. I tried eating Blue Shark years ago and it was like eating fish flavored mush! Thresher is very good but in my opinion the big ones are not nearly as good to eat. I have ate Dusky and it wasn't bad but they are protected now. Atlantic Sharpnose is very good. They are plentiful in the fall and there is no limit on them. We do catch a few spinners here and I have heard they are very good to eat.

To each his own, but I'd probably put it above all of them in terms of eating.

why do you kill tuna? why do you kill dolphin? Why do you kill the conchs that i see you guys like to dive for? I don't get why people personify sharks so much and don't ask any questions regarding killing other sea life for table fare....

NICE MAKO, i hope you enjoyed catching and EATING it.

    Agreed!

Gringo if you want to worry about something, worry about the bluefin, not the mako...
