    Thumbs up RESF...Sunday 6/14

Fished the Hambone for BFTs. Had 7 bites and caught 6 fish. kept our one under, but couldn't manage an over before quitting at 1:30.

Did catch the tail end of the air show on the way in...those fighters are awesome!

DId you do the fast thing or the bait thing?

Good job on the catching- from the sounds of the weather I bet you are glad you did not make the long haul!!

    Thumbs up Sage advice...

    My President:

We took your suggestion and opted on the fast troll. I prefer my tight tuna rig anyway, and the fast troll with the bars, machines and plugs was certainly the ticket for getting numbers...had we stayed all day I'd bet we would have continued to pick the unders.

A slower troll would be the ticket I think for a momma. Another buddy out there did that...only had two bights...but got his big one.

As you know, I was not interested in having the "blue death" eat my bars, so we stayed fast.

See you this weekend...We're fishing inshore and offshore. And don't let the "Ass Clown" bully you around...you're the President.

    The Tuna Troll...

    Sweet Caroline:

We will troll as fast as 9 knots looking for tuna. When they are thick, we have actually caught them trolling as fast as 15 knots...bluefins, really.

Typically we will troll 7 to 7.5. When fishing for the big ones, we'll slow it way down to near 5 or 4. You'll usually fish way back this way however...

Personally, we have had much more success at 7+ knots.

Good luck. We sit on channel 1 usually. Call us if you like.

Thanks for the info. I have trolled the full range and have found the smaller fish will chase down a much faster bait and you can usually keep the bluefish numbers down.

We were out there also in the fog (28 hydra sport cc). It sounded like the bite was good so we aborted sharking and ended with three unders with one in the box. Will be out Wed/Thu next week if you are out we'll call on Ch.1. Right now it sounds like we will be back at the hambone unless the reports send us elsewhere.

Thanks for the report and nice job catchin'
