Why Play Nintendo when you can live it???
Unbelievable Pictures! The shots of the jumping gaffer are incredible.
Lou - I learned a valuable lesson today fishing amongst the fleet of OI's finest. The biggest lesson I learned is that they almost ALL USE SPREADER BARS. Like I said before I don't fish much down their so I only know what I hear. Plastic sucks, bait only blah blah blah. Well we trolled next to Pelican, A-salt-weapon, Smoker, Tuna Fever and guess what. Spreader bars every single one em and lots of em. Some had one, some had 3 and one charter which I cannot remember the name had 4. I think the DMZ line has moved quite a bit south after what I witnessed yesterday.
Amazing pics Bill. Hard to believe but your shots just keep gettin better. Congratulations on a great trip. Come on down and test the bottom again soon. I have a pretty good feeling that you'll get em.
Great report and pics Bill. Those pictures you take are better than any I've seen in a magazine.![]()
Most OI charter boats fish spreader bars. I think some of them even pull a dreaded green machine from time to time. That mega bar will produce. We fish it deep down the middle with a bone colored 6" squid and fang bait. Deadly. It used to be 18" but thats a bit much when all they want is the bar. People run from the pole when it bends. Also works great in the middle as they blow up the bar and switch to the shorts and longs if they dont get the fang. And what color are the squids being pulled down south? B/W, go figure. If you ever need a field tech let me know and congrats on a nice day.

Bill, it was great fishing with you guys last week as always.
As far as the bars go.... It don't matter where you are tuna fishing, DMZ or not, you put the right colored bar out there, tuna are gonna get on it. Something about a bar triggers their instinct to bite. I had them so hot on the bar last week that there would be two or three fish hitting the bar at one time while nothing else in the spread was getting hit. PS this also caused my 8'' squidnation electric blue mauler bar to get ripped into shreds. While fighting a fish and WHILE THE BAR WAS UNDER WATER IT GOT HIT BY ANOTHER FISH. The angler that was fighting the fish lost about 100 yards in a hurry after the fish was under control, then cranks up and half my dang on bar was gone. For all you guys fishing out of OI right now, another plastic bait that is hot right now is the dangler. These fish are on flyers and bonita right now. If you see fish airing out, dont be afraid to drive exactly over the spot where you seen them jump. Many of the bites I have gotten in the past week were from exactly where the tuna were jumping. They get that bait pressed up against the surface and if you get ten yards off where the fish are pushing that bait, you aint gonna get em.
