Sit down Shut up And fish
Report---OI 6-29
Fished today on a charter out of OI. Spent the day with the fleet.
ALL OF THE FLEET!!!!!!
650 line on the 100 and a little overboard. Caught 6 YFT @ 25lb. All were singles. Lost a 50lb yft at the gaff. Fought what I think was a very large Bigeye for 1 hour 15 min on a 50 wide. The angler had the fish close on several occasions but in the end the fish won. He almost spooled us. Down to about 10 feet of line. The captain made an agressive move to get in front and gain some line but the main line broke.
Alot of boats early looked to be pulling on big fish. Alot of greensticks as well as kite fishing going on.
Very sad thing happend as we went under the bridge and were running up the cut captain got a radio call "man in the water". All of the charters within site turned around and back out to the bar. Apparently a man was wading on the southside at the bar and the tide swept him out. IN FRONT OF HIS FAMILY STANDING ON THE BEACH.
About 5 charters searched for 1 hour to no avail. The small coast gurad boat showed up and then the big cutter. We never heard what happend. As I was pulling out to leave OI I saw the chopper circling the area.
Very sad day for that man and his family. I was very proud of the charter fleet for turning around to join in the search.

nice report brother glad to see your still out fishing. Let me know if you still want to get together with the quads.Make sure you save some of those fish for us up here. The water is about 100 miles from us right now so hopefully it will come soon. Sorry to hear about the one that got away.
