report for july 29 to 30 overnight

Well i made one of the hand full of trips io make a year. left sat around 3:00 pm to the h bone. When i arrived there was a good amount of boats. so we set up on the hook for the night. We chunked the butters all night and caught a lot of squid but caught nothing all night. we did get 2 small hits with the butter comming up bitten in half. So we had the jigs on the riggers also all night and nothing. By time the sun came up there was every boat fishing the ocean there. I saw the hooked up 1 about 2 boats over from us. So we did get one on the jig and a friend had it on a spinning rod, He tighten the drag to much and tried to horse it in and there went the leader. LOST. We did not get anymore hits so we started to troll about 9:00am heading back over massey toward home. We picked up a 41 inch bluefin and release him. Then it was it a smooth ride home. We didn't get a very hot bite as alot of other people were getiing earlier in the week. How was it for eveyone else that was there sun morning?

Well, at least you had some action. I have never caught squid before.
