Pulled up 7 miles short of the Lindenkohl @ roughly 8:30am. Stopped due to the abundance of life. Porpoises, whales, weeds, good water. 1 degree break just short of tip. 5 min of having the lines set (all the lines weren't even out yet) and Mr. YFT crashs a zukini colored reel seat squid bar. 30 in. and about 30 lbs. Shortly after, another 30 in. comes to the boat on a rainbow colored squid bar from reel seat. For the next 2 hours we had 3 seperate crashes on the bars all from YFT. All missed the hooked bait.
At around 12-1pm we boated a 70 lb. YFT on a green machine. Roughly 15 min. later a 40 in. dolphin came to the boat on a red/white cedar plug. Tried some highspeed trolling for wahoo with no results, headed for home @ 2pm.
Water temps were anywhere from 79-80 degrees. Tuna guts revealed lots of small squid. Hence, all the bites on the spreader bars.
All fish were caught SHORT of the canyon anywhere from the 45-50 line.
