    Reel Choices

What's the preferred off-shore choice? Not talking about light tackle - I mean the heavy duty beefy nuts and bolts kinda reel that's gonna take a beating before it gets cleaned. 50's, 80's and 130's.

Alutecnos hands down! Smooth as silk, hold a crap load of line, and got a drag like an ox and could stop a freighliner in its tracks!!

why did you say single speed?

The hands down best is Accurate. My personal favorites in a little more reasonable price range are Avet and Alutecnos. I think Alutecnos might be a little better reel, but avet comes in those pretty colors

Shimano. If am going to buy a reel 50 class or higher it is definitely going to be 2 speed.

No Duels?? They're the best I've tried. I have not used Accurate reel, but have heard nothing but good things.

    Shimano... 2 speed reels...

they can be worked on.. you can find parts... they really never break.. great drags and they even look good. I don't like the open top new reels even though they are light weight.. people don't take to them that easy. spun a handle off a brand new reel on a swordfish last week on one of the new 50 boss reels lost the fish also but without a handle there is not much you can do. opps but take it back...
