Reel Choices

What's the preferred off-shore choice? Not talking about light tackle - I mean the heavy duty beefy nuts and bolts kinda reel that's gonna take a beating before it gets cleaned. 50's, 80's and 130's.

no offense flyerphan but the new Penn's are crap compared to everything else. I am interested to see the new Daiwa Saltiga's and the Fin-Nor Santiagos but right now the hands down best, cost is no object is Accurate. I like Avets and Alutecnos as a close second.

Shimano tiagra all the way... Older penns were alright but the tiagras and tlds are the heat

i have all penns and wish i could trade for all shimanos. shimano drags seem to be much smoother along with the cranking seems to be much smoother. Remember I have all penn stuff and I love it but wish i had gone with shimano.

I think some are missing the point. It's a choice between the four indicated 50's and higher. I am replacing 7.5/0 and 9/0 Everols.

you didn't explain yourself. you just asked what the best reel was. And of that list, either the Tiagra's or the ALutecnos. I like Alutecnos, but then I just have a thing for being a little different and everybody and their brother uses Tiagras
