Boss wants the boat run as much as practical. With the wind and weather this season it has been tough to part with the pilings. Today rain or no rain the wind was down and gave me an opportunity to let the dock lines hang.
Figured I was going any way may as well do something while out. So, I grabbed CanyonGear Tim for a little "pulling party".
Leisurely run up the ditch and out the inlet... Water was dirty and cold all the way out but it didn't matter. We were there taking notes on how things ran in various places in the wash.
Boring as hell on one side but oh so important to dialing in weights and designs. Some were good to go out of the gate. Some needed to go on a diet or start drinking protein shakes. I was a little disappointed that we made 800 feet of water and still no "condition" where we could possibly raise something. Still we got off the pilings and learned a little.
Got in the engine room to check some of what is going on by the mechanics ,with the block heaters on and the sun out. I almost fooled myself into thinking it was time
For as few times as we have been out this season we could have shrink wrapped and saved a lot of soap... But then again I really would have had not much to do...
Good day with Capt'n Paul and my brother the video/camera guy..Final pull to double check some of the new "LNG Classics" and some new lures making way into the line up notably a large/teaser called the "Titan" and one of the first "MoJo" jet heads, a cupped face medium sweetie. Along with a plethora of mini heads from our existing line.
As always a pleasure to get on the water with Deep and on the Mirage, the weather wasn't great but the seas were mild enough for some nice video of the lures working to re-assure the action or make for a slight tweek where needed. The "Grander" grabber ran straight up on, so did the "Thrasher", the "Smasher" need to loose a few OZ's and a couple of tweeks to some existing small lures, overall, the tweeks are minimal and expected..pleased is not the word. Re-creating history isn't easy, enjoyable, and with the masterful eye of the LNG mechanic from the past, it was easy.
If interested the video of the lures pulling and poppin' could make an appearance..we'll see what comes out of an hour or so of film..
Pretty sure we got Tiger's big boat on the way out and the new Garlington on tape today on the way in..also some good ol' PB sportfish **** around Sailfish Marina..a good day, yes it was.

Tim
Good having you aboard. At least it was a chance to make sure all things were good to go on the boat... Also gave you a chance to "dial in"... So few people realize what goes into not just making a lure but making it right...
Gotta say that Tigers Garlington is a little different... Can't say I ever saw a full dress work of art sportfisher with a dive platform and ladder that looked more like a cruise ship gang plank...
No better set of eyes on the wiggle - pop - dive than you..so nice to see you smile on your guys today, thanks! You beamed at your new Masher, by the way, she did run sweet up tweeked just right.
Ill' see if we can get some video up tomorrow..
