The reports earlier this week sucked. Yesterday we ran 49 miles before we saw the first sails of the week. Went back today. Water was gren crap and it was time to move on. 100+ boats out there in three tournaments and I think 12 fish before noon. A flurry just after brought the numbers into the 30s and by days end maybe 40 some tallied for the fleets. We left and hunted water and at 67 miles to the north we doubled back and went deeper. Each spot we tried held dolphin but not a sail in sight for us. Within sight we saw the lead boat get his foour fish on dead bait but nothing close to us all day.
Each day has had differewnt condition. Lets hope tomorrow brings one that works...

I was fishing up there too. I saw one fish and jumped him off, A couple of dolphin, but very slow for us. A friend went running around trying to mark bait up there went 4 for 5. So that seems like a good tactic but still very slow for January.

Equally brutal day... More dolphin and for thr fourth day running not a clean shot at a sail to be had. Saw a couple boats bow up but that was it... Half the boats in our event or more didn't see a fish. Last year was 900+ for 50 boats... Oh well...

53 boats caught 104 sails with 39 boats catching atleast 1 Sail. Sounds like much more then half the fleet caught.

I stand corrected... Just got back. Standings and score cards weren't all in when we checked in... We knew 104 fish but even the radio man didn't have the full scores. A lot of boats had to sat phone in their catches... Still it was a top shelf field and we were pleased to be invited. We had a lot of good company in the 0- column. Congrats to all the crews.
Anyone want some dolphin? I can tell you where they are...

I take the blame solely... Yesterday we were way north and the fish that were caught up there were dead bait friendly but I was fishing live baits. Today we fished closer to home. Being back in the points meant having to push the dead bait spread. What fish I did see bowed up were all on live at this end of town. I zagged when I should have zigged...
