    ProGear Reels??

Are ProGear Reels still in business? I have one, its a 2500 model i would like to purchase a power handle for it. Does anyone have a resource to find powerhandle for these reels or can get me in touch with a supplier who would know.

    Thank you in advance.

    Taken from the "Charkbait" website..........

ProGear produced some, then apparently fell off the face of the earth. I'd like to say these reels were available, but for the past six months they've not been produced. Additionally, we have not heard of when they might be, despite numerous requests. ProGear has also moved twice in the last very FEW months, lost phone service.... All this leads us to think that they may not have the ability to produce these reels for some time to come, and may in fact be darn close to being out of business. If we get some more positive news we'll post it. It's one of those situations when you really can't tell if they're in business or out of business. Given competition, especially from companies like Accurate and Avet, I'd say ProGear is pretty much history. It's a sad situation.

That sucks if it's true, they make an absolutely fantastic product. Try fishermans landing in san diego. They are big over there.

i had one of those 2500 reels and it didn't even last a season. I would throw it away and get something else a newell or better avet. jmo. the drag sucks. i am not surprised in the least. i tried to get in contact to send it back. after 5 attemptts i just threw it in abox with other parts reels. if you are on the east coast, i could send you my reel that is parts only.
