I appreciate his comment but don't have a need to be on any list. I know what I do and those that ACTUALLY fish with me know where my game is. Yes he has game and i'd be happy to have him aboard any time. He made an honest statement from his professional opinion. To slam him for making his observation just because you don't like me is just so wrong...

"Seriously alan," and "You got to be kidding" are absolutely SLAMS! As a captain, deepy is able to spot not only slams, but grand slams.......not counting the Dennys grand slam breakfast. Refer back to the handbook you were given when you joined here, unless you want to be kicked to the curb as a warning shot. I believe deepy wrote this book, right after he hung the moon, took his flag down, and pulled his pants up. Palm Beach police can investigate if you would like them too........standing by,

When do some of you jokers with thousands of posts ever fish or get on the water? I see lots of criticism, very little domain "expertise" and few pictures coming from some of the most outspoken. Last time I checked it was hard to type while running a boat or reeling in a fish.

Through years of observation and being in the business for a long period of time...

The true "professional" captains out there are working on their boats each and every day they are not out fishing. I was shown there is always something to do no matter the boat size or how much you think "things and systems are running OK".

Professional captains rarely ever lose a day on the water for their bosses or clients because their boats are always mechanically sound (with the exception of rare unforeseen mechanical disasters).

Professional captains don't have the time to be on fishing websites all day long. Specific charter captains come on periodically to report catches in an effort to drum up charters, which is understandable.

Professional captains always make sure every aspect of their fishing tackle is 110%, even though it's the mates job.

Professional captains realize that they are only as good as the mates that they train. These captains don't berate their mates in front of clients, bosses, or on these websites. They calmly call their mates up to the bridge to explain to them a better way of doing something if a mistake was made.

Professional captains don't come on trying to brag about this, that, and the other. Others do the bragging for them, and the proof is also consistently hanging from their riggers or in the box.

Professional captains don't need to justify anything because their characters are NEVER questioned in the first place. The respect shown to them is obvious.

I've had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside some of the greats in this business who are held in the highest regard. I thank them for showing me the right way to care for a boat and how to conduct myself out on the rip. I apply all that I have learned to my personal boat today. You know who you are.
