Ive been fishing powerpro for about 8 years now, 30 lb moss green has never done me wrong.....its all in how you use it as holwhatchaloveshispowerprodescribed. One of my favorite times to fish locally when im not stomping around down in the salt is for carp.....thats right i said it.....Hello my name is Shawn and i enjoy catching carp in flood stage conditions and doing hand to fin combat with those ugly ass freight trains.....the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
I use to swear by 20 or 30 lb trilene big game, fishing flooded timber we would land mabye 1 out of every 5 fish we hooked up.......after the switch to powerpro the ratio is more like 4 out of 5 and its reassuring to know you can bassmaster a 15-20lb fish around and tree and over a log. Use a rod with the right types of guides, one buggered up guide and forget about it.....it wont matter what your spooled up with.
Power pro is not abrasion resistant.....my ass its not, it saws through wood.....we hork these ugly bastards out of some of the nastiest snags on the river.
No mysterious breakoffs with the 50lb we use on our tld25's and we put some heat to the drum when the tide is ripping in the dirty ditch.
All lines seem to have bad batchs. I've had bad batchs of Momie, Suffix and Ande.
PP seems to have more bad batchs then most brands. The only line I've never had
a problem with is Trilene.
