Finally, after years of effort by Mr Abbott, son of perished seaman, the President formally recognized the sacrifice of the men of Texas Tower 4.

I am sure all the family will be very pleased for this delayed memorial.

This recognition was close to the anniversary which I believe is January 16th.

FYI, Macoora representatives will be meeting the the NDBC next week to talk about the cooperation and support of the angling and mariners community. Major topic will be the discussion of when the 44066 will be replaced.



The last known position was about 825 miles Easterly of the Hudson Canyon, riding along the Gulf Stream in the 37th parallel. It totally stopped transmitting about 2 weeks ago and no one sure why.
