Pre-Rigged Hoo

had a customer ask which brand of "pre-rigged" hoo seems consistent with quality of both the rigging and the bait..never buy it rigged so couldn't give a good answer..thoughts?

Baitmasters sells pre-rigged hoo's. that's the only one I know of...Bob

Baitmasters has the best overall...Consistant and well rigged.

also Bionic Bait...but if you want to make some money, buy them unrigged in bulk, hire a local mate and bang out a few hundred rigged on mono and wire, some with sea witches (which you sell already) and brine them in Baking Soda and Sea Salt and Vacuum Pack or food saver in three's, slap a sticker with ur logo on the front...like a 300% mark-up and the weekend warriors will buy them up like its green beer on St. patty's Day. I know, its what I did until I learned to rig, not that Im an expert in rigging.

I don't want to sell them, just wanted a good answer from experience on the rigging quality and overall bait quality..since Ive' never bought a prerigged hoo in packs.

Baitmasters has always been great for unrigged baits - the quality has always been good... Their pics of rigged baits look pretty good - but pictures can be deceiving...

...thanks Fred, a good referral is ok, and we all know how referrals go..so just looking for input on the few ballyhoo riggers out there..got to be more than..baitmasters and bionic..used both and they have great nakeds..but some folks just don't care to learn the riggin.

I RIGGED UP 72 KILLER BEES THIS EVENING....AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PACKAGING READS, SAYS , OR HOW PRETTY IT IS....AS LONG AS THE TAIL TIPS ARE ORANGE AND THE BEAK TIP IS ORANGE & FRESH AND BRIGHTLY COLORED ...AND THE BILLS AREN'T BROKEN NOR THE TAILS CRSUHED....AND SEAL IS TIGHT

ONE DAY SOMEONE WILL INVENT A TRAY TO PLACE THEM IN BEFORE VACCUM SEALING....SO THAT THEY DO NOT GET THE SHITHELL SQUEEZED OUT OF EM WHEN SEALING.....NOT TO MENTION THE FINS SHOULD BE FOLDED IN PLACE PROPERLY BEFORE SEALING

IN OTHER WORDS....SOMEONE SHOULD SELL CUSTOM PACKED PREMIUM BAITS ALL THE SAME SIZE....AND NOT MIXED SIZES LIKE 99% OF PACKAGED BALLYHOOS ARE NOWADAYS

I believe starting this summer, Offshore Innovations, who is a supporter of this site, will be selling pre-rigged hoo's. Kevin does all his stuff to the highest caliber.

That's right Offshore Innovations collaborated with some premier bait supply companies including Bionic Bait and Pana Pesca USA, that is going to change how you look at pre-rigged baits. This has been a two year project in the making working only with the best in the business. The final details are being ironed out as we speak and full product launch is about a week or two away. We are extremely excited and think you guys will be as well.

In regards to pre-rigged baits it was our goal to provide a true "Canyon/Bluefin" quality rigged ballyhoo. These baits will be available in Mono and Flourocarbon, in both J hook and the ultimate idiot proof circle hook rig. As well as offering the first of its type true "Bluefin" ready swimming Horse Ballyhoo rig. Each and every ballyhoo rig was built in my shop to the exacting standards you have come to expect from Offshore Innovations, then sent to Florida to be rigged by the worlds premier Ballyhoo supplier.

Other baits to include rigged/unrigged Swordfish Squid, Mullet, Flying Fish, and more.

Willies custom baits rigs 'em up pretty nice. He's out of Palm Beach, FL and his site is williesbaits.com. He's got a freezer full of ballys packaged and sorted by sizes and rigs everytime I go in.
