Yester a guy on c dock was crying for a mate for a charter. My nephew had saw on sf.com that gaffman had lost his ride. I will let da gaffman tell the rest of the story. My only hint is he took a swim
Well da gaffman must be fast asleep from his big day on the Blood sweat and tears out of sunset marina. I hope he get on hear quickly to tell the story of his day.
Whatever it was you, caught Gaffman CONGRATS cause you took a swim and that is cool!!! Now wake your ass up and tell us the story since Bill just gave us a tease.
Well, sorry guyz, been reel buzy lately, Ended up working on a boat for the WMO.
First off, i wanna give a shout to my boy Anthony of the Ark, Anthony is truly a awesome freind. He gave me a call thursday night, said capn Dave on the Blood sweat and tears a couple down from him needed a mate for friday.
I gladly accpeted the position
Friday, left sunset at about 5 AM, Headed strait out to the poormans. Charter wanted Marlin. So out came the 80s, and Dink rods, Hawaiian eyes and dinks were the bait of choice.
Well after about an hour of putting around, my right short pops, B/W Hawaiian eye, I run over and jig then drop back, Then i see my left short rigger pop, and start to peel , Just as i get to the rod, whitch is smoking, i look up the see a nice sized blue one grey hounding away, GAME ON, half an hour later release a pretty 250LB blue. Lines back out, and about 2 hours later i see a big old fin pop up behind my left long Run up and crank away, He piles on it, Sadly he we pull the hook while hes tailwalking. Still awesome to see. A couple hours later, My dink on the left flat starts to scream, i mean SCREAM, run over and push up the drag, Look up and see a nice sized blue one tailwalking his AZZ off , get the guy in belt and its game on, Fight the fish for 45 minutes, on 80LB leader , finially get the relase on a nice estimated 300LB blue one, About 1 hour before lines out, my short pops, then all hell brakes loose, a small Rat blue starts terrorizing my spread beating everything in sight, Im trying to keep up with him but didnt manage to get a hook in him, OH well still exciting.
Finially Tally,
2 for 4 on blues and a couple gaffers.
Meet mr. Squidnation at the dock, and im tossed in the drink, considering these are the first blues ive ever caught as the only mate on the boat.
Shane went out with us the Sunday prior to this catch. He put out a great spread behind the boat. The kid does a great job in the pit!
He did take an hour nap while I rustled in a doubleheader myself....
