Please speak up and help me

I was having a very intense discussion tonight with two people who feel that if they are apt at using circle hooks in the white marlin open that they would have a distinct advantage over the rest of the 400 some boats fishing becaused not that many people have been fishing or practicing using them. I told them that they were wrong and that I believe 50 % of the boats were just as apt at using circles if not more practiced than them. I want to see the responses here and how many people believe they have been using circle hooks and if a ruling was to go into full force they would be fine with changing their tactics because they are ready for circles and comfortible using them as much as 50 % of the rest of the boats in the tournament.
Please help me and help me understand if I am right or they are right!

This is just a thought.
The boats that are fishiing the islands for the winter are the ones using circles.
and when they come home whether it F.L. N.C. M.D. OR N.J. I would bet they are using circles. for the rest of the fleet if they are layed up over the winter they may or may not be using circles. I have heard a few captains saying they are flying down to learn, how to use circles. I think by next year everyone will be using circles.

well i guess i have a big advantage because the boat i work on has been using them since 02 and i know of a hand full that have been doing the same

On my dinks I have gone 50/50 circle and J... Not really any difference in hook up rates... Still to this date have not caught a fish with a combo circle. I have a dozen experimental rigs i'll be trying island side where 2/3 of our spread is combo. I'm going to devote four days to fishing with just them at the end of the trip on the moon where we should be getting 10 shots a day at blue and whites...
I'm just fine with em in dinks... Do I have an advantage using them against the fleet... I don't think so. I might have an edge cause I get to billfish all year but I don't think adding circles to the game has made me any more of a threat... If I can get them to work with my combos though... watch out world...
