Planet Earth special-Global fisheries crisis
I just got this e-mail from my brother, his friend & fellow diver/photographer Brian Skerry who shot the cover of the latest National Geographic (dead swordfish in the net) is in a special on TV ,i'm shur some of you guys maybe interested.

Just wanted to pass on to you that Brian Skerry is going to be on a special ABC 20/20 show this Friday, in conjunction with the important work that he’s been doing with National Geographic, and the press that the acclaimed Planet Earth show has been getting. Here’s some more details.

Planet Earth 2007: Friday April 20th: ABC News is live from all seven continents with solutions to save the planet.
An interview with National Geographic Magazine photographer Brian Skerry is scheduled to be included in a Special ABC 20/20 news program with Diane Sawyer, Friday April 20th 10:00PM EDT (please check local listings).
This segment of 20/20, about endangered animals, is being reported by Elizabeth Vargas and will be part of network-wide coverage planned for Earth Day. Brian will discuss issues relating to his NGM cover story on the global fisheries crisis (April 2007). In addition to 20/20, portions of his interview may also appear that day on Good Morning America, ABC World News with Charles Gibson and Nightline.

I must say that while I have no clue who Brian is, it worries me that a NG photographer will be put on such a public stage to speak on fishery issues. I dont know anything about him and hope that he knows his stuff and isnt going to spew enviro rhetoric. As long as he knows the issues and doesnt have some agenda, it may be fine, but I must say I am kind of skeptical already. Hope I am dead wrong.
