I LOVE PIRATES COVE! i will be there on the 3rd or 4th, of june. been doing it for 10 years. it never gets old. sfp#17 its like home! a really first class marina for a guy who cant afford to go around the world fishing. the best fishing trip i have ever taken.

Alex, looks like the bite is gonna start real early this year, good luck down there.

So I am back from the Bahamas.... O the stories I could tell you!

Long story short it was a great time enjoyed by all. This year the Bacardi Tournament ended up having over right around 80 boats. They landed a winning blue right at 425 pounds. We also had a couple 80 pound tunas and tournament winning 101 pound wahoo!!! That was a big fish!!

The staff at Port Lucaya Marina took great care of us and we had an amazing time. Thank you to all who were there and enjoyed the event with us!

So now we are back at work and we are getting geared up for our tuna tournament. We will be catching up for the next week but as of today these are the aplicants that have decided to get there entry forms in early for the Gun Giveaway.

We have had a whole bunch of boats request a special catagory for outboards for the tuna tournament.

You want it .... you got it!

We are going to ad an optional $500 dollar calcutta to the tuna tournament for out-board vessels. In order to enter this calcutta you must pay the base entry of $700 plus the optional outboard calcutta at $500 dollars.

$500 entry ~ Most Points per boat ~ total weight of top three fish ~ outboard only
50% ~ to 1st place
30% ~ to 2nd place
20% ~ to 3rd place

That's an awesome category...I fish Lucaya every year...although not at spring break...must be nice....Port Lucaya are fantastic hosts..and now that the Casino has opened up right across the street it makes getting up early that much harder...sounds like a great tournamanet....Bob

We have a few new additions to the tournament... I still have some others on my desk and I am waiting for the final bits of information in order to make them final. Leaky Tiki is entered into the outboard catagory and we have a few others that have some interest as well. Come on out and play, it should be a fun event

We have a couple more boats that have signed up for the tuna tournament. This past week the tuna bite was pretty good with about 3 boats out of Pirate's Cove going out. The Country Girl, Outer Limits and A Salt Weapon charterd the waters this past week. A Salt Weapon came back to the docks with 17 yellowfin and a 48" bluefin. Country Girl had a box full of yellowfins and released a generous amount of bluefins. There was a wahoo in the mix caught by the Outer Limits who I might add brought in his limit of yellowfin. Our newest addition to our nearshore fleet the Little Jeannie with Capt. Ron Deel at the helm had a fun day catching several sharks and a 4lb flounder.
