Nice fish, the NMFS doesn't recognize those Allisons as anything different from yellowfin , but alot of people think those fish are a different breeding stock, most of the 80 lbr's. have short fins, then some all of the sudden have those big sickle type fins. Maybe that theory is true.
We've caught several fish pushing 1-hundo this year, and if my memory serves me right, this was the only fish sporting disproportional sickle fins. Allison...
I look forward to meeting some of you Sportfishermen members on the coming open boat trips!
If i can find the pic of the 145 allison we got last year i will post it up!! Sweet freaking fish man!! you can also tell by the side of the fish and the top fin! they are a little bigger and longer!

They are just yellowfins. In the pacific I got them with all size fins and I got back to the gulf and people called the long finned ones allissonsHave you ever seen a bedding largemoth? Thats not a shortfin largemouth bass is it? Hell no it's the same fish with shorter tail due to digging out a bed...

we always were taught that they were different from others (even on size) plus the fins are cool! Good on ya guys! great catch we have used yellow green and red ceader plugs in rum cay and walkers cay to matanella shoals and done great also at times. bloody decks are a good thing for sure
