Panama Hannibal Bank help

We fished Montousa and Hannibal 2 weeks ago. During slack tide we would grouper fish. At Hannibal we would Jig and use bait on ledges in about 650'. Plenty of Snowy Grouper.
I agree with everyone else, after catching fish all day, I looked forward to sleeping at night.
That Grouper you are holding John, is incredible!!

I've been doing some on-line research on the IGFA site and elsewhere, and from what I've seen I'm guessing Jon's grouper would be a Broomtail Grouper, correct? I'd be interested in hearing what variety Jon knows it to be, depth it came from, bait, time of day, circle or J hook, etc.

Thanks for the info Jon - I'd be interested in hearing from you to help with the planning and I will respond with a report and hopefully pics when I get back.

Pretty sure that's broomtail, too, but photoshop the CB Yacht Basin in place of the green water and tropical vegetation, say it was caught in 250' on the break and, presto: HOLY MOTHER MEGA SCAMP!!!

I thought so too but IGFA shows it as a broomtail. Wonder if it has a green eye like a scamp...?
