PHUKET INTERNATIONAL SPORTFISHING TOUNRAMENT

Guys, just wanted to let you know about our annual fishing tournament, this is a FUN based tournament, no polygraph, no million dollar prizes, just good camaraderie and a chance to meet people from all over the world and have a good time.
Here is a link to the website and (yes we do know the are spelling mistakes) an Austrian gent wrote it himself, one thing i can guarantee if it was anything like last year the party should be great

three points per kg. for a weighed and verified
black marlin min. LJF-lengTh 195 cm. approx. 75 kg.

three points per kg. for a weighed and verified
sailfish min. LJF-lengTh 175 cm. approx. 25 kg.

released black marlin 225 points

released sailfish 75 points

weighed billfish under min. length will get only 1 point per kg.

three points per kg. for weighed

wahoo, dorado, yellowfin tuna, king mackeral,
trevally, barracuda, rainbow runner, cobia.
no min. weight

0,5 points per kg. for all other tuna species weighed
no min. weight

In a nutshell this means any marlin over 75 kg (150 lbs) or sailfish over 25 kg (50 lbs) is going to get killed because it will outscore a released fish. Not just that, 0.5kg frigate mackerels and kawa kawas would score points. Is this really the image of the Phuket fishery that the tournament organizers want to project to anglers interested in fishing there?

There were some great pics in that vid! I'm dying to catch one of those GTs some day- they must be like nothing else. Good luck this year, and be sure to take some pics so we can share in the experience!
